Home prices in King Charles range from the low $200,000’s to the upper $400,000’s. Prices are contingent on property size and condition. Buyers can expect both newly constructed and older condos, Cape Cods, bungalows, split-level, Colonial Revival and ranch-style properties. “It’s traditionally been a more affordable area of Raleigh that’s had a lot of growth over the last 10 years,” Pitts says. “As development begins to push out, prices are rising.”2 miles to Downtown Raleigh
Streets feel secluded in King Charles; however, locals are about 2 miles from Downtown Raleigh. There are a few bus stops in the neighborhood that lead to the city center, or locals can travel by car using New Bern Avenue. Nearby U.S. interstates 440 and 40 lead about 40 miles northwest to Durham. In case of emergency, the WakeMed Raleigh Campus is in King Charles. And when it’s time to fly, the Raleigh-Durham International Airport is about 20 miles northeast.Hitting the links at Raleigh Country Club
The last golf course designed by architect Donald Ross, the Raleigh Country Club offers well-maintained greens and a challenging game. If locals opt to become members, they’ll have access to all facilities managed by McConnell Golf across the region. In addition to golf, Raleigh Country Club offers an outdoor pool (with a swim team), a restaurant, a kids club and an event space that can be rented. There are also a few pocket parks within walking distance of some homes. At Lockwood Park, kids can race down the double slide or build castles in the sandbox. Culpepper Circle Park sits in a residential area and, as the name suggests, is a circular green space in the middle of residential roads, almost like a large grassy median.Amenities within a short distance
Locals can grab groceries from Food Lion on Raleigh Boulevard. For something sweet afterward, they can hit the neighboring Sodabox, which serves uniquely flavored carbonated drinks with creative names like ‘Tar Heel’ and ‘Southern Sodapitality.’ There are more dining options at the Longview Shopping Center on New Bern Avenue. Here, locals can find Frank’s Pizza & Italian or Little Blue Bakehouse coffee shop, which features selections from half a dozen local bakers. Also in the area, there’s Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Raleigh. In addition to showing classic flicks and new releases, the theatre has a restaurant serving cocktails and bar food.A-plus for Enloe High School
Students are zoned for the Wake County School District and can attend Powell Elementary School, which receives a B-plus from Niche. Then, they can attend Carnage Middle School, which gets an A grade from Niche, before Enloe High School, which boasts an A-plus. Enloe High School was Raleigh’s first integrated public high school. Today, it offers an International Baccalaureate (IB) program and has the largest arts facility in the county.
