Over in West Scranton is McDade Park, with courts for tennis and basketball, and a playground. The park also features the Lackawanna Coal Mine, a historic site where guests take a mine car 300 feet underground on tours. Scranton also hosts Pine Hills Country Club, a public golf club with a regulation course, a footgolf course, a restaurant, and two indoor golf simulators.

Scranton and Wilkes-Barre are a half hour from home
Ransom is car-dependent, due to its rural environment and lack of public transit options. Commuters can take Ransom Road just 15 miles east to reach downtown Scranton. Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport is a nine-mile drive east and offers domestic flights. Wilkes-Barre is a 15-mile drive south, which takes roughly half an hour.
