Tech workers and outdoor enthusiasts are drawn to Viewpoint

If your job doesn’t draw you to the Viewpoint neighborhood at the southernmost end of Redmond City, the fantastic views and outdoor activities will. Located right outside the epicenter of global technology, with nationally known companies such as Microsoft and Nintendo within reach, sits beautiful Viewpoint. “People come for the parks, the leisure, their profession and the views,” says Berkeley Lipetz, broker and owner of the Berkeley Lipetz Group. Even with Microsoft in your backyard, the picturesque beaches of Lake Sammamish and the Cascade Mountains are front and center.

Single-family homes are on wooded lots, condos are another option

Throughout Viewpoint are contemporary single-family houses that range from 975 square feet to 6,500 square feet. Although some have fantastic lakefront views, all are hidden between towering trees and dense greenery, offering you privacy. The median price in this area is $1,030,000, but you’ll find $475,000 condos, $1.3-million ranchers and $8 million modern estates.

Schools in the Lake Washington School District get A grades from Niche

Students may enroll in the award-winning Lake Washington School District. John J. Audubon Elementary, Rose Hill Middle and Lake Washington High School all earn A grades from Niche. Juniors and seniors attending Lake Washington High School take advantage of the Washington Network for Innovative Careers to receive tuition-free technical and professional training that prepares them for success after graduation.

Pickleball courts, trails and dog parks are among the outdoor perks

Looking for something to do after work or school? Although not known as a shopping or food destination, Viewpoint is a place for experiences. Take in the sun and lounge by the lake at Idylwood Park. Play pickleball at Viewpoint Neighborhood Park. Bike or hike one of the many trails that weave through wooded and beach-front parks. Let your dog play off-leash at Marymoor Park, which Lipetz says is the best dog park in the state. “People come from miles around,” he says. Your options for outdoor fun are limitless.

Shopping and dining close to home or in downtown Redmond

Stores and restaurants are still within your reach. Jump in your car and drive an easy few minutes to the surrounding neighborhoods to enjoy restaurants with everything from Mediterranean and Thai to comfort foods and vegetarian to suit your palate. Shop Trader Joe’s at Overlake Crossing or drive 20 miles north to find your next favorite outfit at Redmond Town Center. While in downtown Redmond, experience the active nightlife and craft beer scene. Plus, be sure to play a round of mini golf and grab a beer at Flatstick Pub when you go.

Scenic biking routes in the Bicycle Capital of the Northwest

As part of the city of Redmond, which is the Bicycle Capital of the Northwest, Viewpoint has winding streets lined with bike lanes. Immense fir trees are among the scenic highlights, making a ride to work or school feel like a journey through peaceful forest paths.

We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
