Reidland offers a close-knit community on the outskirts of Paducah
Situated on the Tennessee River just east of Paducah, Reidland offers a blend of single-family home styles near top-rated schools and outdoor spaces. The unincorporated area has over 4,500 residents and primarily serves as a bedroom community for Paducah. It also has direct access to industries in Calvert City and tourist spots on Kentucky Lake. “Reidland is a suburb of Paducah, and it’s a tight-knit community,” says David Freeman, a Realtor with Re/Max Realty Group, and a lifelong local. “We have our own school[s], elementary and middle school, and then there is central high school for the whole county. It's a great area [and] the best place in the whole world to live.”
A variety of single-family housing styles with no HOAs
Homes include Colonial Revivals, split-levels, ranch-styles and New Traditionals. Prices typically fall between $140,000 and $450,000, depending on size and condition. Freeman says that some prices can reach above $1 million. Freeman also says there are no HOAs.
Homes are typically on gridded streets and cul-de-sacs with larger lots, with oak trees accenting lawns. Pools can be a fixture of some properties. Some housing is along the Tennessee River but does not have any private docks.
McCracken County Schools are the main public school district
Public school students can attend McCracken County Schools, rated A on Niche, which permits school transfers, depending on space availability. They can start at Reidland Elementary, graded A-minus until third grade, and continue to B-ranked Reidland Intermediate for fourth and fifth grade. Reidland Middle and McCracken County High both net an A-minus, with the high school offering career courses in animal science, accounting and nursing.
