Homes on the Range
Bartley Ranch’s housing market combines the glamor of showy Reno with the rustic scenery of the Carson Range. "The southern part of the neighborhood is a highly coveted area that's mostly farmland. People have built $3 and $4 million homes on the land there. It's highly coveted if you can get in for a good price," Trimmer says. Bartley Ranch’s custom-build houses tend to feature ranch, farmhouse and Mediterranean styles evocative of this neighborhood’s Old Western backdrop. Most of these houses come with large acreage and plenty of space between them, giving residents vast backyards with mountain views. Mature trees provide shade along Bartley Ranch’s winding streets, and many homes have grassy front yards. The northern part of the neighborhood is home to the Village at Rancharrah development, a gated community named for a casino tycoon, and features custom homes. However, these are typically closer together and have a more suburban feel. Bartley Ranch’s homes tend to range in value from $1 million to $3 million; while houses with larger lots can cost up to $12 million for a 17-acre property.
