Secluded living in East Bay
While most waterfront neighborhoods in the Bay Area seem inaccessible and competitive, Point Richmond maintains the feel of a small town while still having access to the vibrant areas of downtown San Francisco. “Point Richmond really does feel like a small town within a big city,” says Philip Rosenthal, President of the Point Richmond Neighborhood Council. “We have a lot of diversity, and everyone feels like they belong.” Point Richmond has two residential areas, community parks, and a historic town triangle with local shops and restaurants.

Residents can check out a book at the Richmond Public Library or peruse the various shops, salons, and art galleries. The Hotel Mac was initially built in 1911 and continues to be a favorite spot among locals for a night away or an upscale dinner at the restaurant found within. Two distinct residential areas
Point Richmond has two residential areas with different architectural styles. Mid-century moderns and cedar-lined craftsman-style houses can be found throughout the windy streets and hilly terrain on the north side of the neighborhood. Most residences feature a view of downtown San Francisco or the Golden Gate Bridge. The southern part of the neighborhood contains contemporary developments with multifamily options right on the water and is connected by the Point Richmond tunnel. The Point Richmond housing market is very competitive, and price ranges vary depending on location within the neighborhood. A small, two-bedroom bungalow typically sells for $600,000, while 3-bedroom houses in the Brickyard Cove community can top $1.6 million.
