In the middle of the River Park neighborhood is a stretch of the St. Lucie River where anglers can be seen pulling giant snook and tarpon into their boats. But while fishing is loved here, the neighborhood offers more than a great place to drop a line. Those looking for a mostly residential, HOA-free community near Port St. Lucie find it in River Park. "It's very well kept. There's a large older population, so it's very quiet, and you could leave your doors open there, and no one would care," says Ann Marie Green with a chuckle. Midcentury-era ranch-style homes are common
Most homes are midcentury-era ranch-style, often with two bedrooms, and Key West-inspired, painted in bright colors. They’re typically priced between the low $200,000s and the high $300,000s. Other homes are three- or four-bedroom Minimal Traditional, built in the 2000s and featuring full renovations. They generally range between the low $400,000s and low $600,000s and sit on grassy lots dotted with trees. While there are no sidewalks, there is plenty of room for evening walks. For residents 55 and older, the Spanish Lakes community has manufactured homes priced between $100,000 and $250,000.
