Country Club Village is a small subdivision in Rochester Hills

Country Club Village derives its name from a central subdivision developed in the 2000s. Full of sidewalks, shaded trails and winding residential lanes, the subdivision offers suburban living in Rochester Hills, about 30 minutes from downtown Detroit. Although there is no country club, a community center offers swimming, tennis and gardening, while neighboring green spaces in Oakland County provide hiking and golfing.

New traditional homes sit near older properties

Most of the four-bedroom new traditional homes come with a driveway and a front yard, with bigger lawns than in many of the suburban neighborhoods closer to Detroit. Few homes in the subdivision are for sale or have been sold in recent years, but property values range from $660,000 to $725,000. The area around John Road, its eastern border, also includes ranch-style homes from the 1930s to ’40s, ranging from $170,000 to $500,000.

Golfing and lakefront recreation are just around the corner

Though Country Club Village may not have a golf course of its own, the Sanctuary Lake Golf Course is just a mile around the corner. This public, 18-hole course is open every day of the week, giving golfers plenty of opportunities to improve their game both on the green and on the course’s practice facility. The neighborhood is also next to Thelma Spencer Park, where pathways run around a lake used both for fishing and ice skating. The park also includes a tennis court, a lakefront playground and even beach volleyball during the summer months, giving visitors something to do every season.

Country Club Village’s location along Auburn Road puts it within a 2-mile journey from major retail hubs. At the intersection of Auburn and Rochester Roads, a Meijer covers grocery needs while a Lowe’s Home Improvement helps residents beautify their large yards. Restaurant options include both chain and local outlets, with Mayuri Cuisine serving up biryani and other Indian classics and CJ Mahoney’s offering a lively sports bar atmosphere. Mediterranean fare is not only represented in this shopping center; across the street, the Hampton Village Centre includes the Lebanese Grill among its dozens of businesses. Big-box stores like Target and Best Buy share this large plaza with smaller shops like Games Workshop, where Warhammer fans can buy their minis.
