Rocky Hill suburban living north of Princeton
The quaint suburban borough of Rocky Hill sits just a few miles north of Princeton for work or leisure. Buyers can find various established 20th-century homes on modest lots around town. Residents can access several community parks and trails along the Millstone River in Rocky Hill's eastern end. "Folks are drawn to the Montgomery Township School system," says Jan-Michael McClintic, a real estate agent with Real Broker, LLC. "It's also got a small downtown with a couple of local restaurants." In addition to a handful of locally loved restaurants along Washington Street, there are several shopping centers in neighboring Montgomery to the northeast to browse. Parents can also send their children to highly ranked schools in the Montgomery Township School District.

Local bites on Washington Street, and shopping in Montgomery
One 53 is an upscale bistro along Washington Street that serves craft cocktails and an extensive surf-and-turf dinner menu. The historic Rocky Hill Inn & Tavern is just a few doors down and has been the local favorite for pints and pub grub since the mid-1700s. West of town along U.S. Route 206 is a vibrant commercial corridor with numerous options for shopping and dining. Montgomery Shopping Center hosts a ShopRite for groceries and Montgomery Cinemas for folks to watch the latest hit movies. In Princeton North Shopping Center, Alfonso's Pizzeria & Restaurant offers hot pies, pasta and calzones. "The Promenade is the newer development with a Whole Foods Market; it's currently in progress," says McClintic. "There are people working and steel structures getting built." Montgomery Promenade is an upcoming mixed-use development along Route 206. It will bring more retailers and a Whole Foods Market to the area. Construction began on the Promenade in 2024 and is expected to open to the public around 2026.

Montgomery Township School District serves Rocky Hill
Montgomery Township School District is ranked as the third-best district in Somerset County by Niche. Students can attend Orchard Hill Elementary, with an A-minus rating from Niche, while Village Elementary gets a B-rating. Montgomery Lower Middle and Montgomery Upper Middle both get A-ratings, while Montgomery High School gets an A-plus. Montgomery High has Social and Emotional Learning targets for its students, prioritized alongside its cognitive learning curriculum.
