Residents must join their respective homeowners associations, and pay fees of roughly $100 per month.Southeast of William “Bill” Hughes Park, condos from the early 2000s offer two bedrooms and access to a fitness center and pool. Prices range from $332,000 to $400,000, depending on square footage, with monthly homeowners association fees of up to $263. “I feel very comfortable living here. The area has a strong sense of community,” says Rotari. “You see your neighbors all the time at the local parks. We also have shared Facebook groups. For example, there’s one group for all of the mothers in the neighborhood, and we share information about things like good babysitters and after-school options.” Blue Oaks scores a 2 out of 10 on the CAP Crime Index, below the national average of 4.
Career Technical Education program at Roseville High School
Roseville City district schools cover the neighborhood. Diamond Creek Elementary earns an A from Niche, and encourages creative expression, social engagement and physical activity through music and other programs. Robert C. Cooley Middle earns an A-minus and offers K-Pop and Video Game clubs, while at A-minus-rated Roseville High, students can join the Career Technical Education program, which offers the following programs: culinary arts, computer science, media, biomedical science and engineering. Within the neighborhood, the aforementioned William “Bill” Hughes Park has paved paths and playgrounds for kids. The park is open an hour after sunset and the soccer field and basketball and tennis courts are lit. There's also an off-leash dog park and picnic areas are also found here.Just north, Davis Park features swings and a playground, along with a half basketball court and open green space, while nearby Dugan Park offers much the same. The roughly 7-mile, multi-use Pleasant Grove Creek Trail follows its namesake creek east to west, winding past residential streets and wooded areas.
Locally sourced ingredients at Moksa Barrel House
Many of the neighborhood’s restaurants sit along Blue Oaks Boulevard, which marks the southern edge of the neighborhood. Dog Haus Biergarten serves sausages on Hawaiian rolls and sliders. It also has craft beer on tap as well as happy hour specials and outdoor seating. To the east, locally owned Moksa Barrel House serves freshly baked pastries and sandwiches using locally sourced ingredients. Patrons also select from an extensive beer and wine menu. In the same vicinity, Starbucks borders florists and locally owned businesses, while boutiques sit at the Blue Oaks Plaza shopping center. Grocery stores like Safeway and family-owned Nugget Markets are nearby. Retailers and big-box stores sit east of the Roseville Bypass.Access to the Roseville Bypass and bike lanes
The Roseville Bypass (State Route 65) sits about 2 miles east, while Interstate 80 is accessible roughly 5 miles southeast and leads to Sacramento. Interstate 5 (also known as the West Side Freeway) is roughly 30 miles southwest. Many residents here depend on their cars to run errands, though Roseville Transit buses stop along the neighborhood’s main thoroughfares, including Woodcreek Oaks and Blue Oaks Boulevards. For cyclists there are bike lanes that skirt many residential streets. Sutter Roseville Medical Center is 6 miles southeast, while Sacramento International Airport is about 23 miles southwest.Downtown Roseville holiday celebration
Roseville celebrates the holidays in December with a gingerbread house contest and Christmas tree lighting. Basketball fans can head to the Golden 1 Center about 28 miles southwest to watch the Sacramento Kings play.
