Fiddyment Farm is a master-planned community for folks who want to buy a brand-new home, live close to amenities and have easy access to the freeway. “The area is great for new-home buyers and those with families because they are often more affordable than some other areas of northern California,” says Elena Rotari, a Realtor with Better Homes and Gardens who also lives in the community. “This is a very safe area where people can leave their doors unlocked, and neighbors are very respectful.”
Opportunity to design outdoor space
Fiddyment Farm began selling homes in 2020, and multiple builders continue to develop the area. The architectural designs of the homes depend upon the phase in which they are located. Some of these spacious houses are ranch-style, while others are more contemporary builds. Prices range from $480,000 to $1.2 million dollars. Backyards are generous, enabling a homeowner to add a pool or play set. “Because the homes are new, the backyards are often left unfinished,” says Rotari. “Many residents like that they can design their own spaces.” Streets are wide, and new tree plantings line the sidewalks. Robert C. Cooley Middle School serves students in6th through 8th grades.

Neighborhood has several parks
Several parks surround the community, most within a mile from home. Rotari likes to take her kids to Stizzo Park, which features a school-age play area, a half basketball court, fitness equipment and a picnic area. There is also a green belt that will never be built upon, as well as trails for hiking and walking. Fiddeyment Park, named after one of the founding pioneers, Jane Elizabeth Fiddyment, features several types of swings, a zip line and a covered picnic area.

Additional recreation is planned for the city
The City of Roseville is currently developing master-planned parks, recreation and libraries with a 10-year planning horizon. In the meantime, locals can go to the Martha Riley Community Library, one of the three Roseville Public Library locations. Only four miles by car, the two-story building features three reading rooms and is shared with Roseville Utility Exploration Center. Project Play, an accessible playground, is adjacent to the building.

Public transportation not readily available
Fiddyment Farm is close to I-80 and I-65. Commuters who work in Sacramento can expect a 30–40-minute drive. It’s a 27-mile drive to get to Sacramento International Airport. There is no nearby access to public transportation, so residents who want to leave town are car-dependent.
