Meadow Oaks
Quiet ranch-style homes
The overwhelming majority of homes in Meadow Oaks are traditional ranch-style homes, with a few newer Craftsman-inspired ranch-style houses available. “Most of these homes were built in the 1980s, but the more expensive ones have been recently renovated,” says McCarthy. Homes range from just under $400,000 for a two-bedroom to $850,000 for a four-bedroom ranch build near Linda Creek. Homes are on quiet roads that sit away from the main highways. Private parking is not an issue — most homes have multi-car garages and driveways, and some streets end in cul-de-sacs, which cuts down on traffic. Sidewalks make for easy dog walking, while yards are large and many feature private pools. Nearly 70% of the residents own their homes in Meadow Oaks, so it is not uncommon to have the same neighbors for a number of years.Strong Roseville schools
Kids in the neighborhood attend Roseville City Elementary Schools, beginning at Crestmont Elementary, which has an A-minus rating on Niche. Warren T. Eich Middle School holds an A rating on Niche and was named one of the top schools in Placer County by the online service. Teens head to Oakmont High, which has an A-minus overall Niche grade and earned A grades in student diversity and college prep. “Oakmont High is one of the few schools in the area that has an International Baccalaureate program, which is very prestigious and can help kids get into better colleges,” says McCarthy. The school's Health Careers Academy provides training for students who want to explore working in healthcare.Fun at Maidu Regional Park
One of the main attractions of Meadow Oaks is Maidu Regional Park. Only about a mile to the east of most homes, this 152-acre expanse which, in addition to a playground and a skate park, features a soccer arena, four softball fields and five additional soccer fields. The complex also houses the Maidu Community Center, where spaces can be reserved for a variety of events, and the Maidu Branch Library, where residents can check out a book to enjoy while sitting out at the park. Linda Creek provides fishing and a trail for walking and jogging. Eastwood Park is a smaller park with a playground for children and lawn space for picnics. Taylor Made Fitness is a convenient spot for those looking for an intense indoor workout.Nixtaco and more off Sunrise
Sunrise Avenue is a main drag with plenty of local eateries. Locals can start the day with a latte and pastry from Dutch Brothers Coffee and grab an Italian dinner at the national chain Old Spaghetti Factory. Chicha Peruvian Kitchen is a casual spot for authentic Peruvian, and Nixtaco offers elevated Mexican flavors. The Glass Turtle is the local go-to for live music or to watch the game. Residents can head to Safeway for groceries, and there are strip malls with retail shopping on the neighborhood’s north end.Drive on I-80
Meadow Oaks is conveniently located right near Interstate 80, which provides easy access to the rest of Northern California. Sacramento is just a 20-minute drive, while locals can be in the Bay Area in just over two hours and Lake Tahoe in slightly over 90 minutes. For quick trips around the neighborhood, Roseville Transit Buses has frequent stops along Sunrise Avenue and Cirby Way.
