Woodcreek Oaks

Walkable to Mahany Park and other green spaces
Next to Woodcreek High, Mahany Park is one of the biggest recreation hubs in Roseville. Its 150 acres have baseball fields, playgrounds and more. “The trails behind Woodcreek are a hidden gem that people don’t know about,” says Ostrom. “It’s gorgeous with all the grassland out there.” The well-maintained turf field is another big attraction, especially for drop-in soccer on Wednesday nights. Specialty facilities are also popular, found in the northeast corner of the park. Here, visitors can swim in an Olympic competition pool at the Roseville Aquatics Complex or use the gym at Mahany Fitness Center. The Martha Riley Community Library has reading rooms in the adjacent building, and it shares the space with the Roseville Utility Exploration Center. Exhibits highlight sustainable practices for energy, water and other resources. Smaller parks are scattered throughout the neighborhood, too. Paul J. Lunardi Park and James A. Hall Park are only a quarter-mile from each other; they have playgrounds for kids and lawns for picnicking. H.C. Elliott Park has a baseball field and a basketball court. Woodcreek Golf Club is a mile north of the high school, and Ostrom recommends live music in its outdoor dining space.Gathering for Mahany and Roseville events
In addition to its regular fitness classes, Mahany Park always has something going on. SPLASH!, for example, is held at the Roseville Aquatics Complex and has been a neighborhood staple for over 20 years. This September festival features all-you-can-eat food and drink that’s included with admission, and it’s all from local vendors. In the Complex’s parking lot, the Mahany Park Farmer’s Market brings local produce every Sunday year-round. The Celebrate the Earth Festival is a sustainability event in late April, and visitors can learn about electric vehicles, energy efficiency and other green efforts. Since downtown Roseville is close by, residents also have access to Vernon Street events. Food Truck Mania happens every third Thursday throughout the year, and Downtown Tuesday Nights is a summertime festival with food vendors and a car show.Close to Dry Creek Joint Elementary Schools, Woodcreek High
For kindergarten through eighth grade, students are in the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District, and all its schools here receive a B-plus. Students east of Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard can attend Quail Glen Elementary, while students west of this thoroughfare likely attend Coyote Ridge Elementary. Both groups can enroll at Silverado Middle on the neighborhood’s east side: it won the California Pivotal Practice Award in 2022, and its students speak close to 30 languages. In the Roseville Joint Union High School District, Woodcreek High is on the neighborhood's north side. It gets an A from Niche and ranks No. 7 for best public high schools in Placer County, ahead of 13 others. Its Career Technical Education courses include Arts, Media and Entertainment, as well as Building and Construction Trades.Pricier homes with more space
Properties are more expensive than those closer to downtown Roseville, but buyers out here have more square footage and lot size. Front yards aren’t exactly big enough to run around in, but they often have big mulch beds and wide driveways; backyards can squeeze in a pool and patio in most cases. Since a majority of homes were built in the late 1990s and early 2000s, they have modern stylings such as stone facades and multi-pitch roofs. Two-bedroom townhomes are in the southwest corner of Woodcreek Oaks, and they range from $420,000 to $485,000. Three-bedroom ranch-styles have more space, between $500,000 and $730,000. For a two-story with even more square footage, four-bedrooms are between $740,000 and $900,000. This neighborhood’s CAP Index Crime Score is a 3 out of 10, one point below the national average. “I’ve talked to so many people living up in that area, and half the time, they don’t even lock their doors,” says Jeff LaFitte, a Sacramento local and a Real Estate Advisor with Compass. “They can go for a night walk and be perfectly fine.”Local restaurants and Roseville malls
While the north side of Woodcreek Oaks has a Raley’s Grocery, residents mostly travel outside of the neighborhood to eat and shop. Original Al’s Restaurant & Pizzeria, for instance, is about 2 miles east on Junction Boulevard, and it’s been a local favorite since 1994. “It’s always packed,” says Heather Ostrom. “Any dish you get there is so good, not just pizza. The salads are incredible.” Kitchen 747 is about 2 miles in the other direction and serves contemporary American food. About 3 miles east of the neighborhood, downtown Roseville holds 15-plus restaurants and entertainment options, including art galleries and performing arts theaters. The Westfield Galleria is another major attraction, about 5 miles east of Woodcreek Oaks, and it has over 200 shops and restaurants. Just across the Roseville Parkway, the Fountains caters to luxury shoppers with J. Crew Factory, White House Black Market and others.Getting downtown: Roseville and Sacramento
Woodcreek Oaks is primarily residential, so it’s common to commute to nearby employment hubs. Bus Route D operates along Junction Boulevard and Main Street, and these thoroughfares lead 3 miles east to downtown Roseville. The Roseville AmTrak Station is here for an hour-long ride into downtown Sacramento. For drivers, Interstate 80 is farther south: the total trip to Sacramento is 20 miles, and it takes about 30 minutes with usual traffic. Baseline Road, running along the south side of the neighborhood, provides an alternate route. The Sacramento International Airport is 20 miles west, just outside of Natomas.
