Midcentury and recently built homes next to Lake Owasso
South Owasso is a primarily residential suburban neighborhood in Roseville with more than its share of recreational assets. While the neighborhood has midcentury homes evenly spaced throughout, Lake Owasso is the dominant attraction, occupying about a third of the space. In summer, it offers fishing, boating, swimming and waterskiing, while skate sailing, ice skating and ice fishing are regular activities in the winter. “The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Lake Owasso Improvement Association work with local neighborhood associations to preserve and protect the lake and its water quality,” says David Saint Germain, a Realtor with Metro Homes Market. “One way they do that is by educating the community about best fishing practices and clean-water initiatives, which are critical to the lake's long-term health.” While Lake Owasso provides plenty of recreational opportunities, South Owasso residents enjoy four well-maintained and -landscaped parks with space for active and passive pursuits.
