Easy commute into New York City

While driving is an option — the Long Island Expressway is just a mile from the neighborhood, and the trek into Manhattan takes about an hour via car — most locals opt to take the Long Island Rail Road. The system stops at Roslyn on its Oyster Bay Branch, but the vast majority of these trains require a transfer at the Jamaica stop. Instead, residents drive the two-and-a-half miles to the Manhasset station, where they can hop on a direct train straight into the city. Roslyn Estates’ Long Island location also gives it an easy drive to either of the two major area airports, John F. Kennedy International and LaGuardia.
