A top-performing school district is a major draw for Easthampton homebuyers
In Easthampton, pine trees tower above well-groomed hedges and garden beds line paved paths from driveways to front doors. There are tennis courts, a pool and four lakes in the community, and it’s all zoned to one of the Atlanta area’s most sought-after school districts. “The initial draw to Easthampton is the academic excellence around the neighborhood,” says area resident Jamie Grace Miller, a Realtor with Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International. She adds that its location between the shops and restaurants of East Cobb and Roswell also appeals to homebuyers.

Large Colonial Revival homes with basements in Easthampton
Renowned homebuilder John Wieland designed Easthampton in the 1990s. “It was one of the last developments he did in the East Cobb area. He was one of the first people in the area to build two-story homes with big foyers,” Miller says. Other standard features in the neighborhood include garages, basements and backyard decks. Easthampton’s Colonial Revival brick homes have up to 4,000 square feet and sell for $680,000 to $910,000. Even larger homes, some with six bedrooms, are priced between $1 million and $1.3 million. Houses stay on the market for an average of 12 days. Residents pay HOA fees that include a $750 initiation and monthly payments ranging from $80 to $100. The neighborhood’s CAP Index Crime Score is 1 out of 10, much lower than the national average score of 4.

GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
