I think people rating Pope so high are either realtors who want to sell houses in the area or people who have only lived in the south and don't realize how poor the education is. What is considered AP at Pope would be an average class at schools in the Midwest or East coast. Grading is really dumbed down for the kids to graduate with over inflated GPA's. I feel sorry for students who want to go on to college.

Being a Student at Pope High School has been nothing but a privilege. I have so much appreciation for the students and staff. All of the teachers, counselors, janitors, cafeteria workers are all very nice and supportive. There one thing that I love is that if you reach out you can make it happen. They care about all of there students and preparing us for our next step, but its more of a advocate for yourself school.

I would say my experience at Pope High School has been great! I have been able to make lot of new friends through out school and off the sports teams. If any updates could be needed I would say maybe our restrooms could use a bit of updating.

This school places a ridiculous emphasis on sports. It overwhelms the communications from school, the social media, and public student celebrations and accolades. There is not enough diversity in elective options. The school schedule changed daily, which is incredibly hard to keep track of. Worse, t...

Zero. Every year we regret not switching to private or going the Magnet route. It’s shocking Pope is so highly rated. Also those high SAT ACT scores are mostly due to tutoring or significant efforts at home. We can’t wait to be out of Pope!
