Boulevard Heights

Historic brick homes
Boulevard Height’s housing dates back to the early 1900s and presents an excellent opportunity for those looking to enter the St. Louis area. “The neighborhood has a lot of nice starter homes and second homes,” says John Loeffler, real estate agent at Hemrick Realty. “There are many brick builds with three bedrooms and finished basements.” Brick ranchers are the predominant architectural style, but Tudor Revivals can also be found throughout the neighborhood's sidewalk-lined streets. Smaller, two-bedroom residences begin selling for $150,000, while larger vinyl split levels can top $300,000.Catch a game at The Haven
Boulevard Heights is primarily residential, but nearby shopping centers and local eateries can be found along Morgan Ford Road and S Grand Avenue. The Loughborough Commons is the main commercial center with retail shops like Ross and Lowe’s Home Improvement. Schnucks Loughborough provides the neighborhood with fresh produce and groceries. The Haven is busiest on Cardinals’ game day, and locals head to the Sports Bar for the Jack Salmon and wide drink selection. The St Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church serves the area.Boulevard Heights Neighborhood Association
Boulevard Heights has an active neighborhood association that hosts monthly town halls dedicated to discussing the issues of crime, homelessness, economic development, and other topics residents are concerned about. “The association is 1,200 members strong, and it's typical for more than 120 people to show up for basic meetings,” says Keith Fairchild, President of the Boulevard Heights Neighborhood Association. “It’s a very down-to-earth, warm, cozy place to bring your family or significant other.” Although St. Louis continues to face crime-related issues, the crime rate in Boulevard Heights is lower than the national average, according to the CAP Index.Schools in the Saint Louis Public School District
The Saint Louis Public School District serves the neighborhood. Younger students may begin their education at Woerner Elementary School and Long International Middle School, both of which scored a C-minus rating on Niche. Older students may continue their education at Roosevelt High School and participate in the school’s athletic programs, which have amassed 127 Public High League Championships since it was built in 1922. Roosevelt High School received a C-minus rating on Niche. Parents looking for a private school option may consider Word of Life Lutheran School, which received a B rating on Niche.Third largest park in the city
Carondelet Park is the neighborhood's centerpiece and offers endless outdoor and indoor recreation. The park was established in 1876 and is home to the Lyle Mansion, an eight-room frame house that became a city landmark in 1971. Residents will find miles of walking paths, tennis courts, sports fields, and a public recreation center complete with a pool. And fishermen will feel right at home as Boathouse Lake is stocked with numerous types of sport fish. Residents can also head to the River Des Peres Greenway for a relaxing stroll along the winding waterway.Easy access to downtown
“Boulevard Heights has a really easy commute as it's close to Highway 55 and Highway 30,” says Loeffler. Residents can use the easy interstate access to get to downtown St. Louis, just 10 miles away. The Metro Transit has multiple bus stops throughout the neighborhood, making public transportation viable and efficient. Travelers can head to St. Louis Lambert International Airport, 20 miles away.
