A suburban community with urban amenities
Sitting beneath a bustling highway system is Cedarhurst, a residential neighborhood located in the Minneapolis suburb of St. Louis Park. Residents can choose which type of property suits their needs best between condo and single unit housing. Condos here go for $150,000 to $250,000, while homes are $300,000 to $550,000. Locals take full advantage of the lakes surrounding the area, known as the "chain lakes." They can kayak in the summer, and when winter comes around, they trade their paddles for skates and ice fishing gear. Aside from the scenery and nature, residents can also travel to The West End Plaza, about a mile away from the neighborhood. Realtor Susan Melbye of Edina Realty Inc. describes West End Plaza as "one of the hot spots of St. Louis Park."

The two most dominant are ranch-style and split-level traditional homes, with prices ranging from $300,000 to $550,000. Crime watch signs around the neighborhood show that residents here maintain a close relationship with the police, although their presence is rarely needed. Local shopping and dining at West End Plaza
West of the neighborhood is The West End Plaza, a locally owned shopping center with an open-air layout that's bustling with people on weekends. "There's many cute streets with lots of shops and restaurants," says Melbye. When it comes to dining, Melbye personally recommends dinner at Rojo Mexican Grill, a popular spot for fresh and fun cuisine and happy hour margaritas. Good Day Cafe, a family-owned coffee shop and eatery is also a must-visit. For groceries and other needs, residents can head to Costco or the Cub, a regional pharmacy and grocery chain.

Cedarhurst is next to two major highways: Interstate 394 and State Route 100. A series of bus stops on Cedar Lake Road connect the neighborhood to downtown Minneapolis. According to Melbye, the Cedar Lake Bike Trail is the "grand finale" of the neighborhood. "Many people commute downtown using the trail, so it's a big draw." Running through the Cedarhurst community, this paved trail is ideal for both cycling and walking.
