Architecturally unique Euclid Heights homes
Neat rows of homes line up on the grid-like streets of Euclid Heights, a completely residential area north of Downtown St. Pete that’s known for its rich architectural diversity. “It’s not like Historic Kenwood or some of the other neighborhoods that have a certain style; it’s a full mixture of styles,” says Angela Julian, who recently sold a fully renovated neighborhood home that was featured on HGTV’s “House Hunters.” “Right around the corner from the house I sold is an Old Spanish-style house, and there’s new construction, bungalows, craftsman – a lot of different home styles. Some buyers, they don’t want neighborhoods with houses that all look the same. So, that can be an attraction.” The combination of quiet streets and relative convenience also sets the neighborhood apart from its buzzier peers. “Euclid Heights attracts people who are looking for a suburban setting in the city,” says DJ Soucy Jr., a Realtor with Compass Real Estate.

Brightly colored Florida ranch and Spanish revival style homes
Buyers have their pick of Midcentury-modern designs, recognizable by plenty of hard angles and large windows. Spanish revival homes stand proudly in stucco alongside brightly colored Florida ranch-style homes. Some homes date all the way back to the 1920s. Renovated houses capture the latest neighborhood trend of combining both historic architecture and contemporary flourishes. The newer builds tend to be larger, pricier and more architecturally interesting. Prices range from $200,000 for older, smaller homes up to just over $1,000,000 for renovated masterpieces. The average home value for Euclid Heights is significantly lower than the average for both Saint Petersburg and the United States. The average number of days on the market for the neighborhood is also significantly lower than the national average.

4th Street is a retail and dining hotspot
Removed from the hubbub of downtown, Euclid Heights is the perfect mix of being close to city amenities while staying far enough away to maintain quiet streets. “It’s very centrally located,” says Julian. “You’re just minutes from Interstate 275 for travel north and south, and Ninth Street will take you straight to downtown St. Petersburg.” 4th Street North is a hotspot for a variety of retail and dining options just a few blocks away. “4th Street is loaded with restaurants, grocery stores and all kinds of shopping,” Soucy says. “It’s literally three minutes away from anywhere in Euclid Heights.” Salty J’s is a highly-rated option with an Old Florida feel and Metro Diner is known for its American comfort food classics and all-day breakfast. The Publix at Northeast Park Shopping Center services local grocery needs.

Roberts Recreation Center has indoor and outdoor programs
Euclid Heights doesn’t have many traditional parks, aside from Franklin Heights Park, a small open space with a few benches. Locals have to venture outside the neighborhood to reach the much larger Sawgrass Lake Park or nearby popular golf courses. The recently renovated Roberts Recreation Center features an indoor gymnasium and multiple outdoor sports courts that host youth league competitions. The center also offers afterschool and summer youth programs, with its entire second floor dedicated to adult-oriented activities like dance and pottery classes. Baseball is also big in St. Pete thanks to the Tampa Bay Rays, so locals often show up to support the team or sign up their kids for Little League.
