Boronda

Houses in Boronda range from classic tri-levels from the 1980s to ranch-style homes and Craftsmans from the late 1990s. Prices vary from about $490,000 to $785,000 and depend on the size and age of the home. Homes are tucked between Route 101 and the North Davis Road on residential streets, and lot sizes are a draw. “You get more yard space here than in other parts of the city, which makes it more peaceful because you’re not as close to your neighbors,” says Roberto Tovar of RE/MAX Property Experts and a Salinas local. Some properties in the area have enough room for private pools in the backyard. Houses have attached garages and multicar garages. Sidewalks are shaded by oak trees.North Salinas High has a B grade

Locals can easily head up North Davis Road to Westridge Plaza for groceries at Costco and Walmart. The shopping center is also home to Best Buy and PetSmart. Just a few blocks up the road, Northridge Mall has Target, Kohl’s and Home Depot. The mall also features a Cinemark Century 14-screen movie theatre with all the new Hollywood releases and a bowling alley. Residents can listen to Mariachi bands and sip on margaritas at Hacienda Mexican Grill, which has drink specials every Thursday. Fried seafood is on the menu at Bag O’ Crab, where the interiors feature lively nautical-themed décor.Recreation at Sherwood Park
The Rossi Rico Parkway runs through the neighborhood, offering a paved path for cyclists, runners and walkers. Laurel Wood Park is the largest in the neighborhood and has a pair of playgrounds for children to explore. The park also has courts for basketball players to shoot hoops.
