Ingram Hills homes hail from the mid-20th century
Ingram Hills has many homes originally built in the mid-20th century, starting in the 1940s and ending around the 1970s. Popular styles from this era remain in the neighborhood, including ranch residences, bungalows and midcentury modern properties. As a result of the neighborhood’s age, Ingram Hills is filled with neat, narrow front yards and sidewalks shaded by mature trees that have been growing for decades. “In an older part of the city, trees are a big draw, and it creates a very nice canopy,” says Henry Herrera, a San Antonio native and Realtor with Keller Williams. “In newer communities in San Antonio, they basically wipe out every tree in the neighborhood and you have little twigs in your front yard that don’t mature for 10 years, so you have very little shade.” The average price range for an Ingram Hills home is between $200,000 for a three-bedroom ranch property to $550,000 for a renovated five-bedroom bungalow.
Most ranch homes in Ingram Hills utilized brick exteriors.
Midcentury modern homes in Ingram Hills have varying sizes to fit your family's needs.

The 4 Horsemen, the “hottest burger on the planet”
To bite into a legendary local burger, locals can go to Chunky’s Burgers on Callaghan Road. The restaurant’s 4 Horsemen Burger, made with fresh Jalapeño and Serrano peppers, Habanero sauce and Ghost chili, was dubbed the “hottest burger on the planet” by Travel Channel’s “Man v. Food.” The eastern side of Ingram Hills also has some notable local eateries, like Ice Ice Baby on Bandera Road. This shop serves colorful ice cream creations topped with tajin, fresh fruit and sour candy, earning thousands of social media followers.
Some value shops, including the 99 Cents Only Store, are located on the western side of Ingram Hills on Callaghan Road. This part of the neighborhood is also home to St. Domnic Catholic Church, one of the community’s oldest churches. Larger retail options are available on the other side of Interstate 410, including the Ingram Festival Shopping Center and Ingram Park Mall. Grocery shops like H-E-B, Walmart and Sam’s Club are also located along the interstate, about 3 miles from the Ingram Park Mall.
