Peaceful, suburban living just outside San Bernardino
Resting in the heart of California's sunny San Bernardino Valley, Rancho West is a peaceful, family-oriented neighborhood that calls homebuyers looking to settle down in an established neighborhood. Most homes in the area were built in the late 1950s to early 70s, which gives Ranch West a cozy, old-school vibe. The neighborhood is "perfect if you're looking for somewhere that's just a stone’s throw away from Downtown Rialto and already well established so it's out of the way from too much new growth," says Jeff Teel, a Realtor with progressive properties and area local. Rancho West is also right "Above an area that used to be referred to as The Hub," says Teel, explaining that the neighborhood earned this moniker because of how easy it is to get everywhere from there; "You're an hour from the beach, Big Bear or Arrowhead." Rancho West is also conveniently located close to schools, shopping and freeways, which is great for families, commuters and sports fans alike. Despite being outside the city, neighborhood residents can hop on the San Bernardino Freeway (Interstate 10) or walk aboard the Metrolink to travel just under 60 miles to Los Angeles, where they can see the sights, go to work or catch a game at the Dodgers stadium. With a relaxed, suburban feel and views of the San Bernardino and San Gabriel Mountains out the front door, Rancho West is a welcoming neighborhood to call home.

Residents live on avenues fringed with leafy oaks and tall palm trees. Positioned around quiet cul-de-sacs, residents can access plenty of sidewalks connecting them to their neighbors and nearby schools. A majority of Rancho West’s residential landscape is made up of single-family houses. However, there are a fair number of manufactured and mobile home parks on the market. The California ranch-style house is one of the most common home styles in the area, sitting wide on home lots allowing homebuyers to take advantage of every inch of living space. Ranch-style homes commonly feature amenities such as multi-car garages and roof-mounted solar panels. Houses in Rancho West tend to feature characteristics from the Spanish style, incorporating tile roofing or stucco exteriors along with modern stylistic touches like large windows for natural light. Rancho West’s manufactured home parks, like the Santiago Hillside Estates, provide affordable housing with community amenities such as a laundromat, community pool and clubhouse. Manufactured homes can cost as much as $391,000 for a newly renovated two-bedroom and as low as $50,000 for an established yet quality three-bedroom home. Prices for single-family homes don't often vary as widely as prices for manufactured homes do — many ranch-style houses hover around the $500,000 price point, but two-bedroom cottage homes can be found for just under $400,000 dollars, while larger four-bedroom homes with up to 2,000 square feet of space can sell for over $600,000.
