Green space and community outreach
Colony Park on East Harwick Drive is home to more than six acres of open green space and walking paths adjacent to a creek. The park has shaded picnic areas, playgrounds for the kids, and a baseball diamond perfect for dusting off the cleats and playing some pickup ball with friends. South Pointe residents are also near some of San Bernardino’s family-friendly attractions. The SB Raceway is home to an extensive racetrack for gas-powered go-karts, offering both safe and exhilarating racing experiences for birthday parties and other events.Rock Church and World Outreach Center has called South Pointe home for the past 25 years and serving the people of San Bernardino is in their DNA. “We love the city of San Bernardino and we love the community we serve,” said Stephanie Moore, Church Administrator for Rock Church. Every week volunteers distribute food at their 8,500 square foot distribution center in collaboration with outside ministries in providing a hand up to those in need, meeting them where they are. “We feel it a privilege to be in this community and to provide food, clothes and the Hope of Jesus to San Bernardino,” Moore added.

Spanish influences and Ranches
Residents live around quiet cul-de-sacs and avenues fringed by leafy oaks and tall palm trees. Single-family homes dominate South Pointe’s residential landscape, all built within the last 40 years. Home designs harness Spanish influences, from its durable stucco exterior to the fashionable terracotta roofing. These features are often mixed with amenities like covered porches, gabled roofs and multi-car garages. The neighborhood is home to the West Colony HOA which hosts many of the newer builds. Expansive ranch-style homes are also a common site in South Pointe, sitting wide on home lots with spacious floor plans and yards perfect for playing lawn games with friends or family. Other homes feature contemporary designs that emphasize large windows for natural light and clean shapes in their exteriors. Homes averaged just under $535,000 with prices ranging between $450,000 to $620,000. While low housing inventory remains a challenge in this neighborhood, the right listing in South Pointe is worth waiting for. Most of South Pointe’s homes are a short walk from the park and public transportation with quick and easy commutes to the rest of town and neighboring Loma Linda.
