Valley College is a community centered around San Bernardino Valley College, a community college that was founded in 1926. Valley College is just minutes from Base Line Street, “one of the area’s largest streets that crosses several cities,” says Hugo Chinchay, a real estate agent at Your Home Sold Guaranteed Realty with over 20 years of experience. “As its name says, Base Line Street was the base of the Inland Empire,” Chinchay says. Inland Center shopping mall, El Super and Alice's Diner
Retail options abound in and around Valley College. Regional chain El Super keeps residents supplied with groceries. Across Interstate 215 is a Target and Inland Center shopping mall, which houses several franchise retailers and eateries. For a meal out, Alice’s Diner serves up classic American comfort food. When it’s time to kick back and unwind, the National Orange Show Event Center has kept the area entertained since 1911; current events range from weekly bingo to an annual fair. Locals can also drive south down I-215 to Fiesta Village Family Fun Park. Driving north up I-215 leads to San Manuel Stadium in downtown San Bernardino, which hosts minor league baseball games.

Nearby Colton Plunge Park features a skate park, public pools, athletic facilities and resource rooms inside the Gonzales Community Center. Lytle Creek Park’s 18 acres include playgrounds and athletic fields for community leagues. Getting out of town to feel immersed in nature is within reach as well: “You can drive 30 minutes to the mountains,” Chinchay says.
