Living among the canyons and foothills of San Bernardino
Sloping down from the San Bernardino Mountains, Verdemont offers spacious suburban living surrounded by tranquil natural vistas. At the base of the neighborhood, Interstate 215 connects Verdemont to the rest of the Inland Empire. Away from the Interstate and the further up the mountain, the quieter it gets. In addition to the mountain views and the straightforward commutes, the home prices draw people to this part of California. “The number one criteria is affordability,” says Oscar Garcia, real estate broker serving the Inland Empire with over three decades in the industry. Compared to L.A. and Orange County to the west, Garcia notes, “Homes here are a lot cheaper.”

Homes below the hills
Because this neighborhood rises toward the mountains, nearly all homes have great views of the city and the mountains. Homes are predominantly single-family detached houses built in the last 30 to 40 years. Sidewalks connect spacious ranch-styles and Mission Revivals throughout the neighborhood. The Verdemont Neighborhood Association meets throughout the year to discuss any concerns that may arise and to hear solutions from guest speakers. Home prices range from about $460,000 to $755,000.

Hikers admire the vast expanse of the Inland Empire from the trails in Bailey Canyon and Devil Canyon. Residents can see a piece of history at Ronald Reagan Park, where a chunk of the Berlin Wall sits on a small pocket field on the neighborhood’s west side.
