It’s a popular spot for locals who want to bike to the beach or just want to get some trail running in. Proximity to San Onofre Beach itself is also a major draw — the beach is one of the premier surf breaks in all of California. Many locals have memberships at the Bella Collina San Clemente, a 27-hole private golf course on the north side of the neighborhood. Just across the street, residents can take their pick of local breweries, including Artifex Brewing and ROM Beer Company. The neighborhood’s public schools are overseen by the highly rated Capistrano Unified School District, which has a rare A-plus grade on Niche. Clarence Lobo Elementary has an A-minus grade, while both Bernice Ayer Middle School and San Clemente High have A’s. Locals also hop on the San Clemente Metrolink, which has a station downtown and connects to most major cities in Orange County, along with Downtown Los Angeles.
