Residential neighborhood surrounded by central San Francisco convenience
Sunnyside is a small, highly residential neighborhood in San Francisco, offering more suburban-like living within the city’s urban sprawl. Unlike what its name suggests, the neighborhood isn’t always the sunniest area in the district. “Sunnyside is a hilarious name because it’s actually right in the fog alley,” says Tim Gullicksen, a local realtor at Corcoran Icon Properties and San Francisco resident for over 20 years. “It’s a cute, quiet and charming neighborhood that’s overwhelmingly full of single-family homes.” It’s not all fog in Sunnyside, however. With its position on the south-facing side of a hill, better weather days sometimes do sun drench the neighborhood in light. Apart from its own micro-climate, Sunnyside also benefits from close access to many parks, scenic trails, public transportation and local hotspots in the center of San Francisco.
Homes in Sunnyside have large backyards with access to lush green space nearby.

Historic Victorians and hilltop homes with scenic views
First developed in 1891, homes in this streetcar suburb reflect its longstanding presence in the city. Typical housing styles here include Victorians, Craftsman-style cottages and midcentury bungalows. Some bungalows in the community have Spanish Mission-inspired elements, with terracotta barrel-tiled roofs and miniature church bells on their front gables. Homes here are densely built and may offer little in the way of front yards, but many have large backyards with privacy fencing. Houses at the top of the hill have excellent views of the city and distant San Bruno Mountain. Prices range from $815,000 for a small, 750-square-foot home to $2.9 million for a 3,000-square-foot renovated property with luxury-style interiors.

people drive way to fast up and down monterey blvd. and in general Bay Area drivers are notorious for not really stopping at stop signs (rolling stop) and for not stopping for pedestrians when they are trying to cross in crosswalks marked by state law sign.
