Large lots have spacious homes with blended designs and hillside views
The area's wide residential streets are lined with neatly trimmed lawns, shade trees and spacious driveways. Lots are large but close together, and there is a variety of homes from the late 1990s. Many have Spanish Revival, contemporary or Tudor-inspired architecture, but some homes blend styles. The neighborhood's median sale price is around $3.5 million, with listed properties ranging from $1.4 million to about $4.8 million.
Interiors are also spacious. Homes typically offer 3,000 to 6,000 square feet of space, and "the really big houses are up at the top of the hill to capitalize on the views," says Realtor Aaron Yang of Compass Real Estate.
Rolling hills and mature trees define the area's residential streets.

Almaden Quicksilver County Park has scenic trails and lush forests.
Hike through the hills, go for a picnic or fish in the reservoir
The neighborhood is near the foothills and canyons of the Santa Clara Valley, meaning hills roll through the community, as well. "The elevation gives you some great views," Yang says. If you're looking to hike through the hills, Almaden Quicksilver County Park has over 37 miles of trails through gulches, meadows and forests. Remnants of the area's mining history, including abandoned structures and sealed-off tunnels, are scattered along the trails. Stop for a picnic at one of the park's grassy landings or swing by the Guadalupe Reservoir to do some fishing.
Homeowners should be aware that the neighborhood's proximity to the Santa Cruz Mountains can put the area at risk for wildfires and reduced air quality. To help protect residents, Santa Clara County created a Community Wildfire Protection Plan in 2016 to bolster its defenses.
Almaden Expressway leads to San Jose and Silicon Valley freeways
"Country View Estates is great for people who want to be close to the outdoors but still be able to commute to the city," Yang says. Drivers have quick access to the Almaden Expressway, which leads up to Downtown San Jose, less than 15 miles away. It also connects to other major freeways, like state Route 85 and 87, making most Bay Area job centers accessible.
The Almaden Expressway offers a fast route through south San Jose.
