Evergreen Estates has quiet living, good schools and foothill access
Evergreen Estates is a small, heavily residential neighborhood in the quiet Evergreen Valley. The area offers multimillion-dollar homes, expansive mountain views and a relaxed lifestyle centered around outdoor recreation and top-rated schools. The community's more suburban location means daily commutes are often longer, but close access to Highway 101 keeps the rest of San Jose within reach. Residents are also near popular shopping centers and community event hubs in the surrounding area.

Suburban streets offer mature trees and high-end home prices
The neighborhood has a distinctly suburban feel. Most homes here were built in the late 20th century and have New Traditional, Mediterranean or ranch-style architecture. Properties regularly sell for over $1 million, starting around $1.7 million and costing up to $3.3 million. Landscaped lawns, wide driveways and mature trees line quiet cul-de-sac streets. "You can see how the neighborhood got its name," says Elena Johal, local Realtor and founder of Tenacity Real Estate. "The homes have really green yards, and there are trees everywhere you look. They help block the noise from some busier streets."
Spacious homes and neat landscaping define the neighborhood.
New Traditional homes are common in the area.

Evergreen and East Side Union schools are highly rated
Students can attend the highly rated Evergreen School District for elementary and middle school before moving on to the East Side Union High School District, which Johal describes as one of the best districts in San Jose. Its top school is Evergreen Valley High School, well known for its specialized Computer Science Academy. College students can attend Evergreen Valley College, next door to the neighborhood.

Driving is easiest, with highways nearby and employers farther away
Driving is the most convenient way to get around. Yerba Buena and San Felipe roads are the main streets in and out of the neighborhood. Highway 101 and Capitol Expressway are nearby for commuting around San Jose and Silicon Valley. Bike lanes and VTA bus stops line some larger roads, and neighborhood streets have low traffic. "You see people walking around and enjoying the beauty of the area, and you can just sense the neighborhood's relaxed style," Johal says.
Downtown San Jose is easily accessible via Highway 101 nearby.
VTA buses are available in the community but not heavily relied on.

Grant County Park has trails overlooking the city skyline and public campsites. Closer to home, people visit the playground at Evergreen Park or the adjoining Evergreen Community Center, a popular spot for daily preschool, after-school activities and engaging programs for 60-plus residents. You can also become a member of the nearby Silver Creek Country Club, which has a golf course, private pools and pickleball courts.
