Tucked away in San Jose, Silver Leaf offers welcoming vibes
Silver Leaf sits at the southern edge of South San Jose’s majestic and sprawling mountains. Located in Santa Clara County, the southernmost of the San Francisco Bay counties, Silver Leaf offers panoramic views of the Santa Cruz mountains to the west and the Diablo Mountain Range to the east. About 7,500 residents enjoy a quiet neighborhood of condominiums, townhouses and one and two-story single-family homes. Neighborhood parks, schools, shopping centers and plenty of dining destinations are enveloped by stunning daily views.
Besides its natural beauty, another notable benefit that lures homebuyers to Silver Leaf is its competitive home prices compared to Silicon Valley neighborhoods to the north. “Buyers know they will get more value for their investment in Silver Leaf,” says James Do, Realtor with Momentum Realty and a lifelong resident of San Jose. “But they also like the conveniences that Silver Leaf offers. Lowes, Target and Costco are all within a five-minute drive, as are a bunch of great restaurants.”

Just two miles south, but well worth the trip, are the rolling hills of Santa Teresa County Park, with more than 1,500 acres of preserved nature offering spectacular views of the valleys below. Hikers enjoy secluded pathways throughout the hills. The park also offers picnicking, archery, and equestrian staging areas. Santa Teresa Golf Club is a public 18-hole course with a driving range and a casual grill to enjoy after a good round on the links.

San Jose is about 50 minutes south of San Francisco, but according to Realtor James Do, many residents still commute there along Highways 101 and 85 -- even in the age of hybrid and work-from-home schedules. Alternatives to driving include the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), which provides buses and a light rail system serving San Jose and the Santa Clara Valley.
