Stoneridge
Pueblo Revival-style homes and other high-density housing
Stoneridge’s short residential streets are lined with sidewalks and an array of mature trees, from palm and cypress to oak and sycamore. Along the neighborhood’s northern edge, single-family homes are mainly Pueblo Revival-style from the early 2000s, with balconies, stucco exteriors and small front yards with low-water plantings; these three-to-four-bedroom houses range from $1 million to $1.7 million. Townhouses and other multi-family properties are found throughout the rest of the neighborhood. Townhouses built in the 2010s and 2020s feature asymmetrical geometric shapes, flat roofs and earth-tone color palettes, with prices ranging from $800,000 to $1.2 million, depending on square footage. New traditional multi-family complexes from the 2000s have vinyl siding and overhanging roofs; two-bedroom units range from $600,000 to $850,000, depending on their condition. On the neighborhood’s south side, the low-rise Ridgepoint Condo Complex dates to the 1980s, and its two-bedroom apartment-style units range from $500,000 to $650,000, also largely depending on size. There is a somewhat high risk of property crime in Stoneridge; the neighborhood receives a CAP Index Crime Score of 9 out 10 for larceny, and 8 out 10 for burglary, compared to national averages of 4 for both.Family events organized by Hawthorn Elementary School PTA
Local kids can start school at Hawthorne Elementary School, which is rated B-plus by Niche; each fall, the school's annual Harvest Festival fundraiser is organized by the PTA and open to the public, with carnival games, a chili cook-off and a bounce house. The A-rated Laguna Middle has lunchtime activities that meet weekly or biweekly, including clubs for Arabic speakers, and fans of improv, crochet and knitting. San Luis Obispo High, also rated A, offers many athletic programs, including tennis, water polo and volleyball, as well as a Division I Cross Country Team that won its section championship in 2022.Getting to Downtown San Luis Obispo by bus or bike
