Edgewater Isle
Modest condos and townhomes with an HOA
Edgewater Isle’s townhomes and condos were built in the 1980s and feature one-, two- and three-bedroom units. The community has a homeowner’s association with fees that typically total around $570 a month. Condos typically list for between $900,000 and $1.2 million. Condos that border Marina Lagoon are just a few yards away from the water, separated by a small green space and a well-utilized pedestrian path. These are among the priciest in the neighborhood.Highly rated Peninsula schools
Young students can start their education at Bayside Academy, a kindergarten through eighth-grade school that gets a B-plus rating from Niche. It’s home to the Bayside Performing Arts Center where students participate in local concerts, school plays, dance recitals and other events. The next stop is A-plus-rated Hillsdale High, where the graduation rate is 92 percent, well above the state average.Trails, waterways and Bayfront parks
The Foster City Levee Pedway wraps around the neighborhood’s southwestern border, offering residents a great starting place for jogging, walking and biking along the waterways. It forms a 12-mile loop that hugs the shores of Marina Lagoon, and eventually extends out to the Bay. Several waterfront recreation areas are within a short walk or drive, including Bridgeview Park, where visitors can take in sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay and the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge. The park is an access point for the Bay Trail, a hugely popular regional biking and walking trail.Bridgepointe Shopping Center and a bustling breakfast spot
Edgewater Isle is less than a mile from the big box retailers, shops and chain restaurants at Bridgepointe Shopping Center. There, residents can pick up everyday essentials from Target and Petco, stop off for dinner at Chik-fil-A or make a night of it at BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. Also close by is Apple Fritter, a little diner that serves brunch classics alongside quirky offerings like fruity pebble milkshakes and donut burgers.Getting to San Francisco and Silicon Valley
Edgewater Isle is a prime location for commuting. It’s about equal distance from Silicon Valley and San Francisco, home to the region’s biggest job centers and corporate headquarters for major tech companies. The neighborhood sits next to Route 92, which goes across the San Francisco Bay via the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge. It is also about 2 miles from State Route 101, a major north-south commuter corridor on the Peninsula. Residents can also catch the Caltrain at Hayward Park station, about 2 miles away. San Mateo Medical Center, about 4 miles to the west, is the nearest major hospital.
