Local hikers can start a little journey at the Boyd Park Overlook and hike the Robert Dollar Trail, which winds its way through Boyd Memorial Park. “It’s not huge, only a couple of acres, and there's a nice hiking trail,” says Nead. Motivated residents can hop on the trail and make their way up the hill and through the trails to the trail’s terminus before heading back down to the overlook to enjoy the view one more time. Boyd Memorial has a playground with a jungle gym for the kids. Falkirk Cultural Center is a still-standing relic of San Rafael’s past. The 17-room Victorian home was built in 1888 and became city property in 1974. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places, hosts events and houses a contemporary art museum inside its cavernous depths. The property spans 11 acres, part of which has six gardens for visitors to enjoy.
Getting around Lincoln-San Rafael Hill
Residents can hop on the train at the San Rafael Transit Center, which provides transportation into San Francisco. The Redwood Highway is minutes from the neighborhood and connects residents to San Francisco, which is about 20 miles away. Residents looking to take a flight can head to the San Francisco International Airport, about 30 miles away.
