Calm suburban living within the City Different
Set 8 miles south of Downtown Santa Fe, Pueblos del Sol is a suburb off the Rodeo Road thoroughfare, perfectly positioned for sunrise views over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the east and sunset views over the Jemez Mountains to the west. Ever since the neighborhood’s quiet streets and natural spaces were established in the late 1990s, it's been remarkable for being a classic suburb amid the eclectic neighborhoods of Santa Fe. “I’m a local and 13th-generation Santa Fean, and it’s really special when you find a normal suburban community like this here,” says Renee Linson, an Associate Broker with Sun Mountain Real Estate who helped develop the neighborhood. “When it first started growing, there was a lack of subdivisions in Santa Fe, particularly ones with affordable housing. But ever since the first homes sold and the nature trails were paved, it’s been a highly desirable area.” Pueblos del Sol’s CAP Index crime score is a 1 out of 10, lower than the national average of 4.
Santa Fe-style homes surrounded by paved trails and mountain views
Set on suburban streets lined with sidewalks, Pueblos del Sol's homes are surrounded by mountain views and the trails of the neighborhood's greenbelt, Pueblos del Sol Park. Lawns feature manicured gravel landscaping studded with lavender bushes, elm trees and piñon pines that lend homes privacy and shade. All homes were built in the Santa Fe style in the late 1990s and early 2000s, often with second story balconies, enclosed courtyards and attached solariums. Most have between two and four bedrooms and range from $385,000 to $785,000, with bedroom count and proximity to the greenbelt shaping prices.
Most homes in Pueblos del Sol have two or three car garages attached to the house.
Pueblos del Sol features newer homes and plenty of outdoor trails and green spaces.

Neighborhood greenbelts and nearby community centers
Spanning nearly 2 miles across the community’s center, Pueblos del Sol Park is a greenbelt filled with juniper-piñon woodlands, dirt trails and arroyos. A large playground serves as the park’s trailhead, and as of Fall 2024, the City of Santa Fe is upgrading its play and shade structures. Miles of paved walking and biking paths also wind throughout the neighborhood and in the open desert spaces between Pueblos del Sol and Park Plazas to the north.
Around 2 miles north, the Genoveva Chavez Community Center is the city’s largest recreation complex, spanning nearly 170,000 square feet. Visitors here can practice skating at the ice rinks, break a sweat on the basketball courts, or slide into the recreational swimming pool and hot tubs.

Governor Miles Road runs through the center of the community, leading 4 miles west to Interstate 25, leading 57 miles south to Albuquerque. Saint Francis Drive is also a major thoroughfare around 3 miles east and leads 8 miles north to Downtown Santa Fe. Although locals rely on cars to get around the city, neighborhood trails lead northward to Rodeo Road, which is dotted with Santa Fe Trails bus stops. The Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center is 3 miles west, and the Santa Fe Regional Airport is 6 miles west.
A quick drive from grocery stores and the Cerrillos Road corridor
Tucked deep within the suburban streets off the Rodeo Road thoroughfare, Pueblos del Rodeo is several miles from the nearest shopping and dining options. Around 3 miles north, Albertson’s on Saint Francis Drive is the closest grocery store; its neighbor, the Tibet Kitchen, is one of the sole Tibetan restaurants in the city, serving classic regional dishes like fried vegetable dumplings called momos and a homey beef stew called Shogo Phingsha. The Cerrillos Road Corridor is also around 4 miles west down Governor Miles Road, and according to Linson, it’s beginning to blossom with new eateries as Southside Santa Fe grows with suburbs like Pueblos Del Sol. “It might not be like the Santa Fe Plaza, but we’re starting to see some fine dining come down to Southside,” Linson says. “You got the Ranch House’s barbecue, and Rustica is an Italian spot that opened somewhat recently and has been getting really good reviews.”
Italian restaurant Rustica offers a fine dining experience within a more casual setting.
