Affluent Quaker Ridge known for its community and school district
Quaker Ridge is an affluent Scarsdale neighborhood 28 miles from New York City. The area is known for its highly rated school district, proximity to public transportation, and community atmosphere. “It’s a really active, engaged community,” says Stacey Mayer, an associate broker with The Laura Miller Team at Houlihan Lawrence. Mayer has been awarded the Five-Star Rising Star Real Estate Agent Award in Westchester Magazine from 2022 to 2025. “On the weekends, you will see our fields packed with town recreational sports or people strolling the downtown area. Quaker Ridge also has multiple parks and playgrounds, and they are always bustling with activity on the weekends.” The neighborhood is 4 miles from Boniface Circle and Heathcote, two popular Scarsdale shopping centers.

Homes with larger yards in revival styles
Homes are along winding roadways near the Quaker Ridge School or the pool complex. Many houses are built back from the road with green manicured lawns. “One of the things that people really like about the Quaker Ridge neighborhood of Scarsdale, is the houses are a little more spread out from each other, and you tend to get a little more land,” says Mayer. “So, if you're looking for a larger yard, possibly a pool, and don't mind not being able to walk to the train, this is the perfect neighborhood.”
Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival and ranch-style homes are common. “There are so many different architectural styles,” says Mayer. “Scarsdale is known for its Tudor style homes, and the downtown maintains that style. But, on the same street, you can have everything from Tudors to classic Colonials, Victorians, a ranch or split-style home.” Houses range from $2.4 million to $5 million. “There is lots of new development in the area, but the town has an active Committee for Historic Preservation and is trying to balance the desire for new development with maintaining the charm of the town,” says Mayer. The CAP Index Crime Score is a 1 out of 10, lower than the national average of 4.
