Suburban living 15 miles from Little Rock
Shannon Hills sits about 15 miles southwest of Little Rock in Saline County. Largely rebuilt after a 1997 tornado, the community balances the low-key routines of suburban life with nearby access to the rest of Central Arkansas. “It’s an extremely quiet community, so it's both in-touch and out-of-touch with Little Rock: in-touch for the proximity but out-of-touch for the smaller-town atmosphere,” says Jennifer Thomas, a local agent with McKimmey Associates Realtors. She adds, “The schools are well-rated and a major draw for families.” Interstate 30 runs north of Shannon Hills and provides a straightforward commute into the city.
