Expanding real estate and midcentury influence at lower prices than Seattle
With commerce on one end of Parkwood, most of the neighborhood is a shady downhill slope between the city and the northern suburbs. Residential streets are tightly packed, with smaller homes on lots of about 7,000 square feet on average. Parkwood features New Traditional, contemporary and ranch-style houses with midcentury influence. Single-family prices range from about $600,000 to $1.3 million for houses over 2,000 square feet. As development sweeps through the area, newly built townhouses are up for grabs in Parkwood and cost between $650,000 and $950,000. “It’s expanding, and we’re seeing that with the building of townhomes and apartments,” Peterson says. “People are moving north to escape the city because it’s a little more affordable.”
