Small town near Pennsylvania-Maryland border

Located 4 miles from the Maryland border and about 15 miles from York, Shrewsbury provides small-town conveniences and historic charm. Shrewsbury Borough was founded in 1797, and it's a historic district that has been placed in the National Register of Historic Places. Residents can still see some historic buildings along Main Street, which is also home to many of the area’s local shops and dining options. Proximity to major roads makes this community convenient for commuters.

Shrewsbury hosts a variety of events throughout the year that brings residents together, whether it’s small events like the Truck Zoo that displays trucks of all shapes and sizes at the Paul Smith Library, or the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony that has live performances, good food and an appearance from Santa. The Shrewsbury Fireman’s Fall Fest is a big event for the area, featuring live entertainment, amusement rides and food trucks.

Head to Charles Sweeney Memorial Park, which has a playground that children can spend hours on and a pavilion that’s available during the summer and fall months.
