About Silverhill, AL

Charming, historic Baldwin County town

Silverhill's charming town center may seem like an area drivers pass through on their way to the beach, but a closer look shows much more. "It's a very rural but very cute town," says Realtor Cindy Zebryk with Coldwell Banker Reehl Prop Fairhope. Zebryk's been selling homes for 12 years. "It's surrounded by peanut farms, pecan orchards and even an alpaca farm. And most houses have substantial acreages, so it's desirable for those who want to live in the country." The modest town's population is just over 700 residents, many of whom descended from the town's initial Swedish and Czech settlers. Zebryk notes the town's annual Heritage Day, which celebrates its history with food, drink and music. Silverhill is also close to Mobile Bay. "It's nice because you can get to the pier in Fairhope and live close to those amenities without the price tag," Zebryk says.
