Lakeside living in Smithville
A pocket of life amid rural farmland and boasting an array of water activities, Smithville is a lake town 22 miles North of Kansas City where residents have lived for generations. “We love it here, raised our children here, and we plan to stay,” says Daniel Hartman, a Realtor with Show-Me Real Estate and Team Lead at Hartman Real Estate, “our mission statement is about cultivating our natural surroundings, and it reflects in the community.” In Smithville, residents enjoy a nature and community-saturated lifestyle with the conveniences of the city within arm’s reach.
Water activities abound at Smithville Lake
However, Smithville Lake was not always there. “There used to be a history of flooding here. The lake was built in the late 70s and early 80s. It provides water for our community and has completely solved our flooding problem,” Hartman says. This 7,190-acre lake beckons visitors from all over for fishing bluegill, boating, tubing and camping. Fun is found at several lake-fronted parks where residents swim at the beach, go weight boarding or walk along the trails. There is also a dog park for both little and small furry friends. Paradise Point Golf’s zoysia and bluegrass greens invite for a game along one of the two 18-hole courses. While Heritage Park is the place to play baseball or softball.
The Smithville community is home to a golf and lake living lifestyle to all.
