There are also plenty of job opportunities, with the Amazon warehouse and the upcoming Lego factory.”

One particularly desirable neighborhood is Rivers Bend. Bordered by the James River, this neighborhood is home to large transitional houses that sit on half-acre lots with tidy, sprawling lawns. This residential community offers shared amenities such as a 25-meter pool, clubhouse and tennis courts. Homes in Rivers Bend have four to five bedrooms and a median price of $515,000.
In the southernmost region of Bermuda Hundred, ranch homes with brick and vinyl siding sit on lots with simple landscaping beneath tall pine trees. This area does not share community amenities but offers comparatively affordable home prices instead, with homes ranging in price from $350,000 to $450,000. On average, homes in this neighborhood sell after 31 days on the market, compared to the national average of 42 days. With a limited inventory, desirable houses in Bermuda Hundred move quickly off the market.

Chester has a bounty of public green spaces, and Bermuda Hundred is no exception, with multiple parks in the area and state parks close by. Mountain bikes and dogs are welcome on the trails of the 800-plus-acre Dutch Gap Conservation Park, including a lagoon, complete with a public boat ramp, which is a quiet spot to spend an afternoon on the water. Adjacent to Dutch Gap is Henricus Historical Park, a living history museum depicting an English settlement with colonial buildings and actors in costume. The 176-acre Dodd Park at Point of Rocks features playgrounds, athletic fields, walking trails and picnic shelters.

Local restaurants and large chain stores
There are a variety of restaurants along East Hundred Road, including River’s Bend Grill, serving classic American fare in a cozy, mom-and-pop atmosphere. Locals love their popular Knott’s hot wings, cooked fresh and tossed in one of seven sauces, including barbecue, old bay and garlic parmesan. Along the same road is Narita Japanese Sushi, serving large rolls with fresh fish.
Besides dining options, there are several grocery stores in the area, including Kroger and Food Lion. Additional shopping can be found at Breckenridge Shopping Center, with familiar box stores, including Target, Home Depot and TJ Maxx.
Knott's hot wings come in many flavors and are a must order if you visit River's Bend Grill.

Easy access to Richmond and beyond
Interstate 295 runs right through Bermuda Hundred, providing quick access to the greater Richmond region and beyond. Commuters heading to downtown Richmond can expect the 19-mile drive to take about forty-five minutes during peak hours, and under a half hour during non-peak times.
“It’s easy to access all corners of the Central Virginia area,” Hall says. “Though with so much to do and see in Bermuda Hundred, you may not want to leave.”
The Bermuda Hundred section of interstate 295 connects the greater Richmond area.
