RAD Pass, Rachel Carson Trails Conservancy
“We’ve been here for almost 100 years, different locations, but we’ve been around the area for 100 years,” says Janet Tyree, the Director of the Springdale Free Public Library. “We have a really vital adult craft group and book clubs, with wonderful story time and summer reading programs. We also host family events with movies and popcorn.” Adults with a library card in Allegheny County may participate in RAD Pass, which gives free or discounted tickets to local attractions including the Andy Warhol Museum, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, the New Hazlett Theater and other locations. On June 22nd, the Rachel Carson Trails Conservancy hosts the Rachel Carson Trail Challenge, a daylong hike spanning 37 miles that begins in North Park and ends in Harrison Hills Park. Residents looking to attend religious services may visit the Springdale United Presbyterian, St. Marks Lutheran Church and Springdale United Methodist Church among other houses of worship in the area.
Residents have access to the Springdale Free Public Library where local events are held.
