Sports and restaurants mixed into a suburban neighborhood
With its namesake park and sports complex, Cooper Park is at the center of Springfield's athletic leagues. About 3 miles east of downtown, it's also in a precise location for shopping, dining and entertainment. "It's right off of Glenstone Avenue, so there's a ton of restaurants right there," says local Realtor Mickie Roy with Alpha Realty. "There are a lot of amenities that people are close to. And the highway makes it easy to get in and out of the city." Even with all the excitement of sports and the bustling main road, residents can retreat to a quieter subdivision of single-family homes, making this city neighborhood feel more like a suburb.
