Generally midcentury or older, these homes are often extensively renovated and feature accents like stone or vividly painted exteriors. Houses in this neighborhood section run from the mid-$200,000s to the mid-$600,000s, depending on location and condition. The area has several straightforward routes to campus
Drivers can be on campus after driving less than a mile north. "Residential permits are required for street parking, so that helps keep the streets from becoming overflow parking for MSU," says Frugé, who owns the Circle on the Square Holistic Center in Springfield. Cyclists can be at Kemper Hall on campus in roughly five minutes, and those who like to walk can expect to step foot on MSU ground after around 15 minutes. South National Avenue has bus stops for anyone who prefers public transportation. The closest thoroughfares are State Routes 13 and 744.
