Incorporated in 1975, Stallings is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The town of about 16,000 residents sits between Indian Trail and Matthews, where some of their borders overlap. The small town is just six miles long but has been rapidly growing because of its family atmosphere and climate, which experiences mild winters and hot, humid summers. Prospective homebuyers are also attracted to the city because of its proximity to Charlotte. “It’s a great place for those not wanting to pay Mecklenburg County taxes but still have easy access to all Charlotte offers,” says Danielle Edwards, a Realtor with RE/MAX Executive who frequently sells in the area. “If someone is commuting to Uptown, this is a great little pocket town to live in.”

Events at Stallings Municipal Park
Stallings Municipal Park is the town's biggest green space, with pickleball and tennis courts, a splash pad and four playgrounds. “You can rent out picnic areas to host birthday parties,” Edward says. The park also hosts many community events, including holiday celebrations like Stalloween and The ShamROCKin Concert. In 2025, the annual Stallings Fest is called 50 Fest to celebrate the town’s anniversary.
Blair Mill has an 18-hole disc golf course, while Privette Park is a smaller park with a playground. Extreme Ice Center is a skating facility just outside of Stallings, and a Mecklenburg Swim Association club is also nearby. “Swimming is big here,” Edwards says. “People will move to our area because they want their kids to be Olympic swimmers.”
