Independence made a huge difference in my son's ability to enter college with a solid engineering foundation with their engineering program. While the food is to be desired and the funding for several sports teams could be better with a revamp of the booster club, I don't worry with my kids feeling safe at school or getting the help they need. The guidance counselors and the teachers responsible for internships/college readiness work hard for the kids to have every opportunity to excel after graduation. I love that Indy is now a Cambridge school and that more spotlight is on the Track & Field program - athletes are receiving more and more college offers and in past years.

It could've been a better experience with have the stem paths together. But instead seniors were thrown into any program to help fulfill a credit

In my 4 years at independence high school I have enjoyed it here. I feel that it was the right choice to come here not only for the people I have met but for the education opportunities. The teachers here care about the students and they want whats best for them. This school feels safe, you don't have to worry about the worst.

It's a great school. If your students are willing to learn, the teachers are always there to guide and help you. My children love it here and graduated with honors.

It can be very isolating at times and most teachers are pretty indifferent towards students learning.

Passive aggressive teachers and disrespectful administration. All four years Ive felt discriminated against and uncomfortable. Decent learning programs but the passive aggressive teachers make it not worth it.
