Stateline, casino resorts on Lake Tahoe
Stateline's name comes from its location beside the California-Nevada state border. Home to roughly 600 residents, given its location alongside Lake Tahoe and home to several casino resorts, Stateline's population swells during the winter and summer seasons. Whether a seasonal resident or full-timer, everyone can enjoy the premium casinos, food, golf and shopping Stateline offers and the Lake Tahoe region's unparalleled skiing and water recreation opportunities.
Ranch-style and duplex homes with views of mountains
All housing is north of the casinos and resorts, offering a buffer between the hustle and bustle and eccentric nightlife for locals. Many residents wake up to views of Lake Tahoe and mountains. The construction of brand-new large lakeside homes is increasing in Stateline. These houses are located in the Tahoe Beach Club, which offers residents private beach access and a clubhouse. Tahoe Beach Club homes feature two to four bedrooms, panoramic views of the mountains, lake and forest and some come fully furnished. These homes are generally priced between $2 million and $6 million. Duplexes are very popular around Stateline, as is a small subdivision of modestly sized ranch-style homes. Developers built the older duplexes and ranch-style residences during the mid-1970s. These older homes tend to cost between $450,000 to $750,000.

Casinos, skiing and big-box retail
Stateline has four casino resorts: Harveys Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino, Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino, Bally's Lake Tahoe and Harrah's Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino. Here, locals and visitors can try their luck at the blackjack tables or dine at one of the endless casino restaurants. Inside the Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino is The Oyster Bar, a small establishment with wrap-around bar seating. Here, locals and visitors can enjoy Oyster shooters, mussels, gumbos and more, paired with beer, wine and crafted cocktails. Also inside the Hard Rock is Park Prime, an elevated steakhouse featuring dry-aged prime beef, appetizers to share and specialty cocktails. Inside Harveys Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino is a Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen. Right over the state border, The Shops at Heavenly Village, home to the Heavenly Ski Resort, has several places to eat, a few local boutiques and name-brand stores, an ice skating rink and a movie theater. Locals can also cross state lines to grocery shop at Raley's, or travel up north less than 2 miles to a local Safeway.

World-class golfing and equestrian trails
The Edgewood Tahoe Resort offers guests and the public many recreational opportunities, including a winter ice skating rink. But the resort is best known for its golf course. Both members and the public can book tee times at the course, playing at over 6,200 feet altitude on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Many greats have played the course, including Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer and Phil Mickelson. Van Sickle Bi-State Park, which straddles the border of California and Nevada, offers hiking and equestrian trails for public use.
Highly rated public schools
Neighborhood kids can attend the Douglas County School District. Little ones can start at Zephyr Cove Elementary, which has an overall A-minus rating from Niche. This elementary school is relatively small, with roughly 150 students in the entire school and approximately only one teacher per grade. A robust parents' club works with the elementary school to help fund field trips, provide classroom teaching tools, and organize schoolwide events to help foster a strong community. After fifth grade, Stateline students can attend George Whittel High School from sixth grade through 12th grade. George Whittel High, which has an overall A-minus rating from Niche, educates roughly 160 children with a student-teacher ratio of 7 to 1.

Access to a major highway and airport
Locals can hop on U.S. Route 50, moving east towards Carson City and west towards Sacramento. U.S. Route 50 is also the connector between Stateline and South Lake Tahoe, making it easy for residents of both areas to travel in and out of their respective states. An express bus runs from Stateline's casinos to the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, which is 55 miles away.

This is a beautiful place to live and a great place to raise a family. I was born and raised here and i absolutely love it. In the winter you can ski and in the summer you can boat and go to the beach. Living here is expensive but extremely enjoyable.
