Jupiter Island
Suburban Neighborhood in Stuart, Florida
Martin County 33455
Private luxury estates surrounded by plants and palm trees
While Jupiter Island does have some smaller, single-family homes, the area is mostly known for its luxury estates. “There’s a lot of people wanting to get out of the cold,” says Suzanne Dickinson, a real estate agent with REMAX Masterpiece who has been selling homes in the area for over 20 years. “It’s a big vacation area and a place where people want to retire.” These homes often range from $5 million to $33 million. Homes on the higher end of the range can offer as much as 10,000 square feet and pricy upgrades, but even smaller homes can come with a hefty price tag based on how much land they sit on and how impressive their ocean views are. These homes embody coastal living with breezy Mediterranean and Spanish-style architecture, large balconies and patios, resort-style pools and private boat docks. Those looking to build a custom home can find a limited number of lots available, with prices varying based on size and location, but should be prepared to wait before construction starts. “You can get a building permit, but it's a rigorous process,” Tronolone says. Regarding crime, Jupiter Island has a 2 out of 10 on the CAP Index, two points lower than the national average.Residents are close to Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge and The Jupiter Club
The north side of Jupiter Island has multiple state parks and wildlife refuges. Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge is renowned for its sea turtle nesting areas. Visitors hike the self-guided nature trail and fish in the Indian River. St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park is only accessible by boat, and visitors hang out on the beach and enjoy the sun or swim and snorkel in the Atlantic. Down the island, the Blowing Rocks Preserve is home to a rare natural phenomenon – during high tide, waves can break against the Anastasia limestone that lines the coast and burst into 50-foot-high plumes. Golfers can join the exclusive Jupiter Island Club in the neighborhood or head into Stuart to join the Sailfish Point Golf Club, about 25 miles away. And, of course, there is the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River, which most residents can access from their homes. “If you like to kayak, snorkel, swim, paddleboard — anything you want to do outside, you can find it here,” Tronolone says.Route 1 and I-95 are close by
Residents take the bridge along Southeast Bridge Road to get to the mainland and can access Route 1 and Interstate 95 once there. These highways travel to neighboring cities, like West Palm Beach, about 30 miles away, or Miami, about 95 miles away. The neighborhood is also 30 miles from Palm Beach International Airport, which offers flights throughout the United States, to Canada and the Bahamas.Southeast Bridge Road leads to shopping and dining along Route 1
As soon as residents cross Southeast Bridge Road onto the mainland, they are greeted with an array of dining options down Route 1, like Blue Pointe Bar and Grill. This laid-back restaurant boasts views of the Indian River and serves a variety of cocktails and fresh local seafood. For an upscale night out, 1000 NORTH on the tip of the Jupiter Inlet is one of South Florida’s premier waterfront restaurants, where guests dine on regional American dishes while overlooking the Jupiter Lighthouse. Residents can also run errands at the retailers at Southeast Bridge Road and Route 1, including Publix, several banks and other services. About 25 miles away in neighboring Palm Beach Gardens, The Gardens Mall is a large shopping complex filled with luxury shops, including Apple, Tesla and Gucci. The closest hospital, Cleveland Clinic Martin South, is about 13 miles away and includes an emergency room and medical center on its campus.South Fork High boasts award-winning student athletes
The Martin County School District serves the community. Children often start school at Hobe Sound Elementary, which has a B-plus rating on Niche. After that, they can attend Murray Middle School, which has a B rating, and South Fork High School, which has an A-minus rating. South Fork High offers an extensive International Baccalaureate program with 26 courses, and its athletes have been crowned the FHSAA's Class 6A Overall Academic Team Champions every year since 2021.
