The community has mostly single-family homes, but plenty of condos as well. Single-story ranch-style designs with attached garages or carports are common. These homes also have ample yard space. Contemporary homes with attached garages in subdivisions can also be found. Some neighborhoods within North River Shores are gated. Some inland properties offer golf course views, while properties throughout the community sit on the water. The largest and most expensive custom homes are concentrated along the river on the community's west side and feature private docks that extend well into the river. Home prices range from the $300,000s to the mid-$5 millions, while condos typically range from the low $100,000s to the mid-$600,000s. "Lots of kids and families here, and it's close to everything," says Lauren Purkey , a resident and local Realtor for Illustrated Properties. She describes North River Shores as having "great neighbors and a community feel."
Residents stay active with waterfront recreation, golf and tennis
Residents, of course, enjoy easy access to fishing, boating and nearby Atlantic Ocean attractions, including beaches and a state park, but they also have resort-style amenities on their doorstep. They can play 18 holes on the executive course at The Shores of North River Golf Club and play racquet sports and swim at the North River Shores Tennis Club.
You can take your golf cart to nearby stores
Residents enjoy quick access to the stores and restaurants along U.S. Highway 1. "We take our golf cart to Target," Purkey says. "Everyone has a golf cart."
